Monthly Newsletter —"Count It All Joy"
None of us enjoys facing trouble. Difficulty is rarely welcome, and yet the Apostle James offers us a perspective that challenges everything our natural instincts tell us: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds." — James 1:2 (NIV)
Notice something important here. James doesn't say to be joyful because of the trial. He says to count it all joy while you're in the middle of it. That is not a feeling — that is a choice. A deliberate, Spirit-led decision to trust God even when the circumstances around you don't make sense, a walk of faith!
Every trial is an opportunity to trust God more deeply. The enemy may have brought the problem, but God is already at work using it to develop something in you — endurance, patience, and a spiritual maturity that cannot be built any other way. As we continue standing on His Word, He provides wisdom for every situation and the strength and stamina to keep pressing forward, one step at a time.
When you don't know what to do, start there — go to God, His Word first. He promises to give wisdom generously to all who ask without doubting (James 1:5). Then plant your feet on His Word and refuse to be moved. Remember who we serve: the same God who parted the Red Sea, turned water into wine, shut the mouths of lions, caused the sun to stand still, walked with the three Hebrew children in the fire, and threw open the prison doors for Paul and Silas — that same God is still working today.
Whatever you are facing in this season, make the decision to stand firm. Refuse to let your circumstances dictate your outlook or define your future. Count it all joy — not because the trial is pleasant, but because God is faithful. The trial is temporary. His promises are eternal. And if you will keep believing, you will find that what the enemy intended for your defeat will become your greatest testimony of God's faithfulness.
Remember, small battles, small testimonies, big battles, big testimonies!!!
